Carol Taylor Swim For Hope Event

The Old Bridge Breakers Swim Team is proud to sponsor the 2010 Carol Taylor Memorial Swim for Hope. This biannual event was first held in July of 2008 and raised over $2000.00 for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Carol was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March of 2007 and passed away January 16, 2008. Carol was a long time parent volunteer and the Breakers are sponsoring this event in her memory.

2010 Swim Season

Head Coach - Debby Henry 703-730-6554
Email the coach at: debby.henry@comcast.net Debby enters her tenth year as a Breaker coach, with 2010 being the seventh in which she serves as the Breakers Head Coach. The Breakers were able to capture divisional championships in her first two seasons, captured her third divisional championship win in 2007, her fourth in 2009 and a fifth in 2010.

Debby comes with a varied swimming background that includes many years of competitive swimming as a child, coaching as a high school and college student, and being a parent of four swimmers as an adult. She has lived in Old Bridge Estates since 1995. Three of Debby’s children, Jake, Kelly and Brett swim for the Breakers. In addition to coaching the summer swim team, she works as a Fifth Grade Teacher for Prince William County Public Schools.

Assistant Coach - Kathy Karlen

2010 will mark Kathy’s ninth season as a coach for the Breakers. Kathy has lived in Old Bridge since 1989 and has a solo law practice in Occoquan. In addition to her coaching experience, Kathy is also a swimmer herself as a member of the Virginia Masters Swim Team.

She and her husband Neal have three children, Mark, Conner and Kate, all of whom swim for the Breakers.


Assistant Coach - Matt Ragghianti
Matt is returning for a sixth season of coaching for the Breakers. Matt was an original Breaker and swam for the team until his graduation from Gar-Field High School, where he was a member of the varsity swim team. A graduate of the College of William and Mary, Matt is a teacher at Brentsville High School, where he helped coach the mens’ team to their 2010 State Champeionship title.

Assistant Coach - Molly Schwoppe

Molly will be returning to the coaching staff as a full-time coach for the 2010 season. She has completed her junior year at Virginia Tech. Molly was an original Breaker and swam for them until her graduation. She also swam for Occoquan Swimming and QDD swim teams, as well as the Gar-Field High School varsity Swim Team. Molly was a Breaker volunteer coach in high school and is entering her sixth summer as a coach and site supervisor for SwimKids.


Assistant Coach - Caitlin Henry
Caitlin brings a lot of swim experience to her coaching. She was a Breaker for 12 years and swam for the Amberjax, Occoquan, and QDD USA swim teams. Caitlin also swam for the Gar-Field High School varsity swim team all 4 years of high school. Caitlin has just finished her freshman year at the University of Virginia.

Assistant Coach - Jordan Quantock
Jordan holds the Breaker record for moving and returning to the team over his swim career. Jordan has been a Breaker for a total of 7 years over three tours in Woodbridge, finishing his last three years of high school as a Breaker. When not living locally, Jordan swam for teams in Europe and around the United States. Jordan has just completed his freshman year at Mary Washington University.
